Don't talk to me about different keyboards! Some bright spark at work decided that when they were ordering Macbooks for all the staff to use at work, they would order them with English Keyboards. All well and done, but I work for a German company and there are three more letters in the German alphabet, which obviously aren't on our keyboards. It's possibly through a magic combination of keypresses that I can never remember to get them, but what a pain.

Oh and on my personal PC, which does have a German Keyboard, Alt Gr is incredibly useful. However switching between the two keyboards is a right pain with some letters in different places.
Similar to our work.

The machinery is German made and needs a keyboard plugging in to give certain commands.

They obviously use German keyboards, and guess what we have over here?

On windows youused to be able to reorientate the screen with Alt, Ctrl and the appropriate arrow

T'was a good wheeze to go round turning everyone's screens upside down!

We had a problem with one of our machines at work, and they needed a keyboard. Problem was they needed an RS232 keyboard, and every one we could find was USB

Eventually one was found lurking at the back of IT's "these will come in useful one day" cupboard

I had was producing some software for a Danish customer, and all the wording was, naturally enough, in Danish.
Easy enough, as I didn't need to understand the words, as I knew what the thing did. However I did need to type the correct Danish key, to get the Danish letters to make it do this or that. Needless to say we didn't have a Danish keyboard, but it was possible to set the settings to "danish keyboard" then felt tip pen each of the bongo letters onto the right key. I seem to recall Danish O (a bit like a phi) needed shift & alt to get it to come out, even with the Danish keyboard settings. Found it in the end though.
