So my cross trail seems to be on its last legs so going to get a new bike. I. Mainly use a bike for going to work so it needs to have a rack for back and full mudguards. Also at weekend I want to venture further a field such as cycle paths by canal and road. So mainly no off road stuff.

Q1. What is the difference between the drop bars and straight handlebars
Q2. What the difference between cycle cross or touring bike and are both good for cyclepaths
Q3. My budget is 300 - 800 and want that to include the extra stuff
Q4 what the revolution bike like from Edinburgh bike shop
Q5. What about board an bike or genesis?
Q6. Would you buy from e bay I have not much knowledge of a bike
Q7. Where do u get bike insurance from?

1) Drop bars gives you loads of hand positions so IMO more comfortable
2) Cyclocross, more off road, touring for long distances
3) ??
4) ??
5) Don't know about Genesis, but Boardmans are excellent and good value for money (although Halfords can be a bit pants)
6) I would not buy second hand unless you know your bikes
7) Insurance company?? British cycling maybe?
