Considering buying a "neck massager"

My legs have been in knots that a foam roller can't undo, and I have started looking into tools for the job. It appears that the people who specialise in this kind of product are predominantly pitching them for a more erotic purpose, and as such these things seem to command what I consider a premium price (they seem to start knocking socks off if they have a mains power supply and are generally >£50).

Has anyone got any experience with a "wand" as lovehoney refers to them?... and I mean in the shin and calf area.

I am unlikely to take any further exercise or health advice, because I am unhealthy and lazy - but if you think I can solve this without a sex toy, feel free to tell me!

I was fondly remembering staying in a place in Croatia which had a pool with an obscenely powerful water pump. The water came in through a ~3 inch hole, but at a pressure I assume use to remove the meat from a bone to make a Big Mac.

That thing would invert my leg muscles in an obscene and upsetting way, and make me feel utterly reborn.

That is the sort of pleasure I am looking for from this Magic Wand.

I never found a particularly good foam roller instruction video when I got it. So there may be something in that.
See a sports massage therapist or physio and get them to show you and check technique

You also need to know why your legs are in the state they are

Book yourself a stay at Champneys and try the thalassotherapy. They've got a pool with five different ways of blasting you with ridiculously high pressure water. It's great.

Nah, I'm certainly not that but did enjoy the last sports massage I got where I was right on the limit to what I could stand.

Relaxed my calf muscles to the bone, and I can still feel the benefit. Probably as much about technique as anything, but a foam roller doesn't do it for me.

I use a battery operated tens machine like this.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0...ns+machine&dpPl=1&dpID=41MXm88bTSL&ref=plSrch

I take it on any long multi day rides I make. Its a great bit of kit to use for 15 minutes after a hot shower.

Its very light and the battery lasts for ages.
That's interesting. I heard from mixed opinions on them, but the context at the time was, in fairness childbirth rather than leg pain...

I suspect bring hairy could pose a small problem. I know it even makes defibrillation less effective!

I'll read the Amazon Q&As!

Also @winjim - that thalassotherapy sounds incredible.

Nothing to stop you de-hairing f necessary and who’s using a defibrillator on your legs? They need to go back to doctor school surely!
