i've often thought of trying the one-nostril approach. But the fear that I may get to work to be told that I've got a dried snot-track down the side of my face.

Easy answer.....clear each nostril in turn

I don't think I will ever be able to master a "snot rocket"- have practiced in the shower!!! For now I shall have to make do with my sweat band on my wrist and the odd stop to get out my tissues

Absolutely not , I used to run with a nice young lady who was an expert at it .

I'm with you - I have tissues in pockets, and even a scarf with pockets to keep more tissues.

Use the opposite hand across the body to the nostril you're covering.

As far as hitting other cyclists - I see exactly zero other riders on 90% of my commute. I think my bit of the sarf-east is considered a no-go area for cycle commuting. Don't know why.
I only ever clear my nose on the back roads and bridleways where I don't see other people - I don't think it's something I want to do in front of others!

I used to hate seeing people clearing their nostrils (or snotterils) when racing! I used to blow my nose 'proper'.

You'd think that with such a vast and free supply of snot, there'd be some way of making something of it! Ughhhhhhhhhh!
