What is hilarious is;

Contactless means not contacting, but everyone contacts

Vendors who take your card to put it on the contactless POS terminal rather than offer it to you*

*How else can they keep duplicating your cards?

American Express BA VISA
Ah. You find places that take Amex easily enough?

My first and only experience (so far) of contactless payment was paying my bus fare from Bath Road into Heathrow Airport a few months ago. I felt like a real country boy out of his comfort zone when I boarded the bus with a handful of change and asked the driver how much it would cost to get into the airport.
He grunted something and pointed at a machine; turned out this was a card reader, and cash was not accepted. I showed my techie skills off again as I searched for the slot to push my card into ..... Had this been anywhere else, it would have been a source of amusement and humorous comments from other passengers; but this being London all I got was looks of disgust :headshake:. Once I did figure out what was required, the thing that confused me was that there was nothing at all to tell you how much would be deducted from your account - so you are basically signing a blank cheque apparently; as long as it doesn't exceed £30 from what I am gathering from this thread. In the good old days of cash, the journey from Bath Road into the airport was actually free.
