Bought three of these recently. Gave one to a participant in difficulties in a sportive shortly after, which left me with two.

Yesterday I was taking bike no. 2 out for a spin and found the front tyre was flat. Replaced inner tube with one of new new Contitube Race 28 700c Supersonic and pumped it up to 80 lbs / sq in. A few seconds later - **BOOM**! Replaced it with the second one - same thing happened. £20 down the drain.

Has anyone else had problems with these inner tubes? It says nothing about the maximum pressure on the pack (pic attached)

Yes.

If you search there have been threads about these before now.

From a bulk buy batch of 10 bought in 2009 I only have 3 survivors. The other 7 were like yours and failed very soon after stating in service. 2 have been used and are now spares, the other is in my back wheel but has a bent threaded bit (my fault not its) so will go out at the next puncture or tyre removal. I won't be buying any more.

I have Schwalbe tubes in 4 x 26" wheels, the main bike's front wheel (700c) and have been using them for some years with no trouble at all - guess what I'm sticking to.

Edit: I forgot - gave one away on a charity ride in May so it's only 2 left.

I have been running them for the last 500 miles without issue.

Could the initial / early puncture be down to the way it was fitted / do you think they are more susceptible to pinch punctures?

I was very careful when fitting them as I didn't want to puncture a new tube upon fitting and they have been great ever since.

I've had the same problem with mine... Thought it was the rims tbh, but it might just have been the tubes....

I switched my wheels, tyres & tubes on both bikes, all were brand new with no burrs or damage to the rims.

Fitted Conti Race Light rather than Supersonics due to cost & very marginal weight difference.

The very first one failed at the valve on installation & so became bin fodder without any use.

Could have been nipped when fitting so I reserve judgement for now as the others I bought are fine.
