Im looking at changing my schwalbe lagunos to the above tyres. I want a faster rolling tyre but not too much that i wont get any puncture protection. Are these reliable tyres?

Mine only lasted one ride. Got a slash cut in the side of the tyre caused by a bit of sharp flint.
Got a fair few punctures in the front tyre too.
Went back to using Gatorskins.

IME, yup  They don't compare with Gatorskins for puncture protection, but then again they are a race tyre whereas Gators are training/winter tyres.

FWIW I ruined a brand new Schwalbe Durano on a brand new bike on one ride from a flint cut, but it didn't make it bad tyre ;)

IME, 4000s are great tyres that wear well and grip well, I've not had any puncture issues, (even with my fat @rse :mrpig:), and even though they've had loads of miles put under them they still have loads more miles in them.

In fact I might put them back on now the sun has come out ^_^

In between here and there
Great tyres for riding but not good for the wallet. Cut up too easy depending on the roads you ride and had two last year with holes in the sidewalls. Having said that will probably put some on for the summer!

3600 miles of mixed commuting and general rides in all conditions on the current pair with no problems. The last pair lasted for over 4500 miles of the same riding with only one flat.

Just keep them at 110-120psi and check for small embedded pieces of flint regularly.

Love my GP4000s tyres on my road bike, 3,000 km of town roads and country lanes, still in excellent shape:thumbsup: .

IME the are IIRC the set on my bianchi p'tured once in the 3000 miles Ive had them (and that was race sabotage, 1000 carpet tacks ) and the Kinesis tyres (circa 1000miles) have never ptured, touch wood. I would caveat though Im not the heaviest rider and theyve only seen summer rain.

Another thumbs up from me. I have just switched back to the 4000 S for the Spring, from 4 Seasons used over the winter.

No punctures of which to speak. Very pleased with them

Good fast tyres and for the type above avarage P* protection. There's always a trade-off with light fast tyres and resistance to damage. It's the pact with the devil you make for their performance.
I've just fitted a pair of Michelin Pro 4s, superlovely, but probably more delicate than the GP4000s.

All good info, keep it coming folks
I have been close to pulling the trigger on a pair of summer tyres for the past cpl of days. Currently leaning towards GP4000s over Mich Pro 4 Service Course. Outside bet darkhorses are something exotic from Vittoria, probably with green or beige sidewalls

+1

Use them on my boardman which offer good performance with adequate puncture protection. Best advice is to buy these on offer or with a discount code as the only negative would be they are pretty steep at the wrong outlet.
