I currently have a Sirrus Expert but I am not to keen on the flat bars,is it a viable option to convert into road bike with drop bars or would the geometry etc be wrong?
The other more expensive option is to trade in for a Specialized Secteur Elite

Its viable, I converted my sirrus sports to drops. V brakes with sti's is a bit of an issue. The Sti levers don't pull enough cable to make the v brakes effective. This can be overcome in part with Problem Solver Travel Agents but its not a perfect solution, brakes are still a bit weak. IME if you can afford it I'd trade in and go for a purpose built drop bar bike.

Many thanks.
I have been into the Specialized Concept store in Chester and they also say it is viable but suggested changing levers and Y brakes for canti's,this could be pricey but fortunately I have a relative in the business so that would offset it a little.
I am tempted to agree that a change of bike may be the answer.
If anyone is seeking a 2009 mint(as new) Sirrus Expert please let me know

Your 2009 Sirrus Expert

Hi El CID,

I have a mate looking for a 2009 Sirrus Expert, to match mine as we're cycling John O'Groats to Lands End in 7 weeks time.

Is it still for sale, and if so what size please?

Cheers.
