I had a similar problem with the front wheel as the forks are 84mm wide. All the front hubs are for 100mm forks. Also wanted a 36 hole hub. This is for a Kansi Folding Bike.
Anyway finished up buying a standard shimano hub off eBay and sawing it in half. Then made a sleeve for the middle which was a very tight fit. Machined the two halves down to correct size. Inserted sleeve and pushed together in a vice. Rebuilt new wheel and fitted to bike. Worked a treat and no sign of it coming apart as the spokes also hold it all together.
Lucky I have a lathe but any small machine shop should be able to sort it in an hour.
