Convince me to cycle into work tdy

Went to work this morning on the raodie , hit a patch of ice uphill and hit the deck.No way to avoid it as a car decided to overtake so i had nowhere to go but to attempt to ride over the ice but trying to put power down with 23mm tyres uphillon ice does not work it would seem ....
Coming home i had to work a good hlaf mile uphill on another section as ihad enough trouble standing up without trying to ride, bloomin council had not gritted at all
Looks like i shall have to use the winter MTB based hack tomorrow and take the main roads as much as i can .

Hmm, it's -4 this morning, I would break out the MTB but it has flat pedals on it.

Note to self, don't just plan to fit new pedals, actually fit new pedals!

Best way to avoid the cold - down gear, spin up and stay slow. 20+mph wind chill is nasty, but stay at high revs in a low gear will keep the body warm without too much wind. I passed people in shorts this morning!!

I would give it a miss, work that is. Sometimes the commute is better than the work, just get out there and ride.
