Thats sad news yesterday. It looks like there have been money problems. No info about whether it is lack of promised sponsorship or financial mismanagement .

Wyman quit the Vision 1 team back in May this year apparently amicably .

Cooke says She's looking forward to working with the GB team again. mmm sounds like a bit of a radical U turn to me.

Maybe she is not so easy to get along with ? there looked to be communication problems when Halfords pulled the plug on sponsoring the womens team last year.

Cooke rode in GB colours at Ardèche last year, and Vision 1 were down to ride it this year so I expect her to ride there before Mendrisio. I am guessing that a GB team would have been invited to Ardèche anyway, though.

When Wyman left he said there were differing ideas for the direction of the team. I wonder if in lieu of a big sponsor he was putting in a lot of money himself, and now he's gone everything has had to be revised?

Regardless of the speculation, World and Olympic champ and no main sponsor are the hard facts. Quite difficult for anyone to run a team on no money as Roger Legay described. I guess we are back with our "lack of profile for the women's side of the sport in the UK". It does not matter how good you are, or how tough the competition is, and since we saw the coverage Cooke achieved at the Olympics when the general journalists and public were watching, it basically comes down to the specialist reporters being only interested in men's racing in this country. Rather sad really. I think I have read more about Cooke in the Aussie Ride magazine than any UK mag.
