I struggle to understand aspects of this post. You've previously owned a Wahoo which failed. Have you contacted Wahoo about this? A complete failure is rare. The Wahoo does everything you want.

I use a Wahoo, RWGPS Premium and plan my routes in RWGPS and follow these on the Wahoo screen. It's very simple to do.

In the Wahoo app go to Settings >Authorised Apps >select RWGPS and follow the onscreen instructions. This is a one off operation.

Any route you create in RWGPS will be available in the Wahoo app. Select the route and it will instantly load on to the device.

Alternatively on the device go to Routes >Sync and all your routes will load to the device. This needs to be done whenever a new route is created. Selecting routes on the device is fiddly but if one pins a route in RWGPS it will be in the "Starred" folder and easy to find.

Why only use the Wahoo to record miles? It has all the features you need.

At least 20 phone calls and emails, none of the proffered solutions to the issue worked.
Eventually when I asked Wahoo if I could send the unit back to them for repair, I was told that they do not have that facility. After that they then said (for the tenth time): "If you can tell us what the problem is...". I gave up.

I got offered a Dura as a beta tester and even between the last pre release software update to the product that shipped was a significant improvement.

Well, I might give it another try. The same unit I bought and returned is still sitting at the shop. No takers, it seems.

Yet I had problem with my Wahoo bolt and it’s erratic speed registering. The shop where I bought insisted Wahoo replace it. In fact they gave me a new one and sent mine back to Wahoo and told them to knock the cost off their account.

I should have bought it from your shop.

How far can I go?

Now over a month in, and I'm really liking it still. I can't fault the pre-plotted navigation. Turn by turn directions are accurate, and the Dura beeps (very loudly) to alert you of a turn in plenty of time. I haven't attempted the re-routing feature, so I can't comment on it. But I have noticed, when I do go off the route, once I'm a couple of turns away from being back on the route, it shows me where to go. I don't really need this feature as I've purposely gone a different direction and know how to get back on route. But helpful if you're in an unknown area.
I used the voice command feature for the first time yesterday- that was really quite cool. I didn't need to be so focused on the map. It worked really well, and the voice came through my headphones clearly over my music. I use shokz bone conduction headphones.
Another feature I like- if you are following a route, but aren't on the map page, when you have a turn coming up, it automatically switches to the map (accompanied by the beep) to show you which direction to head in. Once the turn is made, it automatically swaps back to your original screen.
I'm still exploring the features, but it seems as though many of the initial maps issues have now been addressed.
