I wish I could express a perfectly simple and sensible wish, request, hope or similar without having to go on at such length that most readers lost interest before I'd got half way to the end and those who did make it had forgotten what the point was by the time they'd read to the full stop, which will often not be where it might at first have appeared it ought to be, but perhaps a dozen or so words later.
