Tomorrow is my last day living in Hove Actually. After 6 years here I'll be starting a new job in Mexico City in mid August, inshallah. To make the most of being in Europe, I am spending the next two weeks in Corsica. I have read JayClocks useful crazyguy writeup and am highly excited. I shall let you all know how it goes and the pros and cons of an August tour there when I get settled after the holiday. Have a good summer everybody!Happy touring.

A friend had two weeks of touring out there last year, I think hot featured in his description! He said the roads were good and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. Will have to look at JayClocks write up.

It's cooler in the mountains and forests of the interior rather than the coast. Ride up there and take small roads into the trees. Then take forest tracks....then swim in the pools of mountain streams. Heaven.

I was in Corsica a few years ago - not cycling, sadly.
The roads were emptier than France, by and large.
Some stunning scenery, and we found a rock pool that was so isolated I could go skinny-dipping!
So I jumped in.
It was then I discovered the river was probably snow-melt, and very very cold.
My poor little genitals didn't know what had hit them
Don't let that dissuade you though...

Yeah, it's cold, but it keeps cans of beer cold too, so that you can enjoy them as you lie in the sun, afterwards. Very happy times.

Just to say I am near the end of my two week tour of Corsica and I have to say I have been blown away by the beauty of the place and by the incredible cycling. I am writing this on my Kindle which is kind of awkward so I will keep it brief for now and go into more detail on pluses and minuses on my return. But I just had to say what spectacular touring it is here!

I spent 3 months hiking through and around Corsica back in the 60's whilst a Foreign Legion recruit.

Paradise on earth wasn't exactly how I would have described it.
