Cost of beer in pubs

Bowland brewery in the neighbouring "affluent" borough of Ribble Valley has a pub/bar on its premises. You'd think it'd be cheaper a pint as there are no transportation costs etc. No,it's a staggering 4 quid a pint!

I thought it was more. Agree that it is steep for those parts. Clitheroe needs a spoons. Many of its pubs have long since been plasticised.

They obviously need to put it up a bit more...


I can remember the Student Union bar, where most beer was £1 a pint - £1.50 a pint was about the most expensive.

And one of the perks about working in the Grad Bar was being able to drink for free! *Hic*

Nowadays Student Union bars have put their prices up to Pub levels to discourage 'Binge drinking'

This blog piece claims that there's a pub in London charging £16.20, though you can't necessarily believe everything you read in that esteemed blog.

The deserter is actually a spoons fan and I have a sort of impression that I might have sat next to the neer do well and one of his companions. Can't possibly say why I suspect this.
