Yesterday we were at Dudley zoo, another place for a good day out, I found it far bigger than I remember it from a previous visit some years ago

Fantastic place ! We've even managed to see the Red Panda's out too ! (Private joke.)
They were well hidden high up in the tree yesterday.

Sorry to drag this old thread up , but we had a day here yesterday and once again it was fantastic visit .
Oh, this feels spooky.

I was there yesterday too!

Long complicated and rather dull story, but 3 Australian women of a matronly disposition (I was one), two Australian young women of the next generation (who had nearly grown up together) along with the rather confused English boyfriend of one of the girls (so much 'straylun and so much oestrogen, poor boy was overwhelmed  ) needed a suitable days activity in vicinity. Cotswold wildlife park was a good choice.

A little disappointed as the weather turned on us pretty badly and we made some poor choices. Only saw one lemur, behind bars in Madagascar and otters that we sought out expressly were no where to be seen. But it was a very pleasant day.

Cafeteria is fine. Overrun by hungry families at 1.30, but when we returned at 4.00 we had the place to ourselves, and they wouldn't serve us the chips in the bain marie, but insisted on making a fresh batch.

our decision was made in the car at Oxford station. We didn't bring any food.

We really only got started around the park at about 2, so odds on we didn't see each other.

yeah. sadly they were surrounded by people who thought their most important characteristic is that they are ugly.

I mean, they are, but that is hardly the point.

Following the recommendation here, we are off to pick up my brother in Oxford and we're going to give this place a go today :okay:

enjoy it , the only animals we have never seen are the Wolverines closely followed by the Otters who only seem to appear at feeding time , make sure you look at the naked mole rats !!!

That was excellent. Everything was pristine and all the animals looked in first class condition. What surprised was the high standards of the grounds, the lawns and the beds were immaculate.
Photos when I get home.

I fully endorse the recommendation of those above.

The wolverines were play fighting next to the walkway and the otters were all out enjoying the sun. Sorry.

The naked mole rats were just weird.
