However, store policies are a bit strange. You can buy two packs of paracetamol, or two ibuprofen, or one of each. But you can't buy two paracetamol and one ibuprofen and vice versa. Ibuprofen doesn't kill like paracetamol.
I take regular doses of paracetamol, ibuprofen and codeine. I tried Tramadol to avoid the constipation thing, but it made me itch like mad, and I jerked a lot in the night....you know that spasmodic kicking thing that makes you so popular with partners..... At one point the pain in my FAI was so severe I couldn't function at all without four daily doses of 2 paracetamol, a 400mg ibuprofen and a couple of 30 mg codeine. I have previously suffered oesophagitis so I also have a 15 mg Lanzaprosole to protect my gullet.
Now I'm down to a morning dose, involving only a single codeine plus paracetamol and ibuprofen, and an afternoon or evening dose of paracetamol and codeine. I only take more than one codeine if the pain is severe, ( or if I fancy getting stoned). I'm told the regular use of all the painkillers has a cumulative effect, which is why I can back off the dosage without suffering too much discomfort.
The most entertainment we had from Tramadol was last Christmas when Nanna was taking it regularly in larger doses than I could cope with. She'd sleep for hours in the chair, wakeup, talk nonsense for a few minutes then go back to sleep. We were actually convinced she was losing it, but managed to persuade her GP to review the dosage. The current reversion to what passes for normality in Nanna has made us realise she isn't yet senile.
