.........for Mrs A's ancient Raleigh Ebony.

Thing is the tyres are completely shot. Bits of sidewall flaking here and there and I dare not pressurise them to their (once) optimum. She bought this relic back in 1987 and has used it since for foul weather rides and for going down the pub, but she still loves it.

The snag is, I can't find any new tyres for it. They are 650 X 28A, (28-590 ETRTO system) and enquiries at various equally ancient bike shops have yielded responses from a straight no chance to bemused reminisces. Does anyone know where I might be able to obtain replacements?

have you tried emailing direct the likes of Scwalbe and Conti asking, who knows what they might have lying around the place?

SJS cycles really do hold the most amazing amount of stuff. give them a ring, they're very helpful

Thanks lads. I contacted SJS, and although they can't supply direct replacements, they have suggested a slightly wider version which might do the job. I'm going to order a pair in the week.
