I recently came across the Bikewise web site which sets out to "make biking safer and more fun by gathering good data on the things that sometimes go wrong." Currently the all the information on it is for North America, but anyone anywhere can post to it, so if we all started using it could this become a useful resource, for the rest of the world?

I did my final uni project on a web resource called 'CycleSafe' it covered many things found in cyclecraft, the main bits being which bike to choose, sizing, how to understand someone in a bike shop, road positioning, using roads, commuting, locking the bike up, being seen, and the basics of maintinance.

the idea being that it introduced people and was a first point of reference for someone wanting to start biking / has started biking and wants to increase their competence on a bike on the road.

it refers people onwards to cyclecraft, park tools, sheldon brown etc so that people with more knowlege aren't left floundering

sadly no one wanted to take it on.

Why would you have needed someone to take it on?
