Yup, when we were kids schools never closed.

But when we were kids most of us walked to school.

Twas only about 9 years ago that I left school, think we'd had a total of 20 snow days during the time my brother and I were there.

An evil, underhanded plot to find an excuse for raising Council Tax next year.

Roads fine this morning.

Because it didn't freeze as predicted and because the grit kept the snow from forming.

I left school (6th form) in 1987, and I think in my whole school career I'd had a total of no more than 2 days off (probably not a whole day at a time, but the odd early closing)...

Not bad, especially as the first 5 years of that were in Belfast, with is actually quite a long way North....
