All the best for the operation,
its been 5 weeks since mine, you will feel really uncomfortable for the first week and depending on the anaesthetic you have, pretty helpless, one tip is no matter how you feel take the pain meds you are offered this will help to make you feel better and recover faster. They will have you up and moving the day after the operation which gives you confidence for your recovery and after you have done the stairs test they will send you home. Hope you have someone at home to help you as you are very reliant on someone to help for everyday tasks.

Although after the operation you wont think so, after 4 weeks and doing exercises you will feel much better and thinking of ditching the crutches, do as they say regarding what you should or shouldn't do regarding bending your hip while the muscles get stronger, to avoid a dislocation. The big plus is you will be pain free regarding the hip while exercising.

Let us know how you get on.

My dad has had both of his done, a few years apart, he was uncomfortable for a short while but was soon on his feet.

You will be fine, as others have said take your meds and do what your physio advises and you will be just fine. :hugs:

Good luck for tomorrow @s7ephanie

With any luck they'll give you the old hip joint in a jar to marvel over.
