Courteous copper !

On my way home today, a police car came tearing up the road in the same direction as me with lights & sirens going. I slipped into a gap between two parked cars so he didn't have to go round me - and I got a toot of appreciation as he tore past - ! Impressed or what - ? !

Two cops in a car once stopped in the middle of a u-turn, to let me cycle past, on a hill.
In appreciation, I stood up on the pedals and showed them my fine, fine booty

I've had a wave before from a flashing police car when I've stopped the bike at the kerb to make it absolutely clear that I wasn't going to be getting in their way.

I got close passed by a police car tonight, very slowly, but too close none the less

I always clearly give a Left signal and maintain this ....then carry on close to the kerb

I was complimented by one of the ambulance drivers as it makes it clear what my intentions are

About half the ones I pull over for or give way to (oncoming) give me a wave.

I came up to 50yrds of roadworks near Beckenham last week with a diversion going about 500yards round the block. Coppers came up behind me, told me just to go straight thru the cones, and sat in the car watching to make sure no one gave us a bollocking.

Im an ex police officer. Wherever I could have a laugh with the public I did and wherever I could help I did. If you think of what a policemans day consists of, it is good to lighten the mood. Usually it is full of death messages, sudden deaths, fights, drunk domestic disputes and trying to find toe rags and villains.

Apart from the police officers on here. I wonder if anyone else socially knows any police officers. They have a great black humour. Im surprised that a book of policemans tales has never been written. It would be a Real eye opener.

If you think of what a policemans day consists of, it is good to lighten the mood. Usually it is full of death messages, sudden deaths, fights, drunk domestic disputes and trying to find toe rags and villains.

That sounds like a normal day in the office for me.

My mate at work told me of a recent incident down the Mile End Road.Apparently he got stopped by a copper and told off for not using the cycle lane.

Then the copper told him don't worry the (new) cycle lane has only been open for an hour.They aren't all bad by a long chalk.
