Sounds both logical and good. If going for the cartridge BB (metal both ends (not LH plastic) <£20, should last 5000+km) and you'll need the 20 spline tool.

Worth checking Spa Cycles for Bottom Brackets. They have a good range of widths and at decent prices. I now have them on my bikes are they seem to be rock solid.
