Well what a night the wind is wild just wonder what things will look like in the morning!!!!If I had a kite wonder if I'd travel far. Impossible to sleep might have to get the headphones and listen to some music. Anyone think of any songs with wind in?

I hope you haven't only just got it, we have had gales for 4 weeks, they do die off for maybe a couple of hours a day but back again as strong as ever, looking at the forecast, it looks like we may get rid of them on sunday, so hopefully may just get out for a deserved ride.

I've just driven an extra mile home from work steering around bits of tree and vegetation blown around the roads...

Everybody's sick of it; I was just thinking that this should be a time when we celebrate winter with beautiful winter's days of cold crisp air, snow lying, snowball fights and excited children, blue skies and low sun, hot chocolate, mountain bike rides on crunchy icy lanes, not misery and being stuck indoors.

The wind and rIn had me awake several times in the night, and I've woken to find it isn't that much calmer! A friend was stuck at work for ages after they closed the old Severn Crossing and there were reported to be huge queues on the new bridge. It did make me wonder how cyclists get back once they shut the old bridge.

I wonder if they are allowed to cross on the path on the leeward side of the bridge as the cycle track would be sheltered from the wind by the elevated road.
I got blown off the street and into a temporary fence on a building site the side of the road yesterday evening coming home - more humiliating than painful. Average speed on the trip home was 14 km/h!
Lucky the fence wasn't blown onto you. This happened on Wednesday:

It's lying right across a cycle path! I don't think anyone was hurt, fortunately.

I've just found the answer on the Severn bridge crossing page, and the answer is that it is a public footpath so not under the control of the bridge authorities. I wouldn't like to try it our house had just been sandblasted by hailstones. Though it is almost tempting to turn up and find out how bad!
