Been commuting on a fixed since September. Nice cheap Bowery from Pearsons, but it's developed a creak up front.

Thought I'd throw it open to suggestions before I took it apart or headed for the bike shop.

Any ideas?

tighten bolts holding handlebars

check its not the brakes rubbing or otherwise,

headset?

Find a quiet place, stand astride the bike and apply the brakes, apply weight to various areas of the handlebars, attempt to move the bike backwards and forwards and from side to side, listen. Tell us what happens.

Had a creak at the 'front' for a few days - nearly fell off whilst trying to figure out where it was coming from. Turned out it was the seat clamp bolt that needed tightening :bicycle:

Nearly!!!! I did come off whilst listening for a noise, which I think turned out to be just the chain needing more lubricant. My elbow still hurts occasionally after 6 months.

I also had a creak that I thought was the BB, opened it up but nothing seemed amiss, finally traced it to the seat and seat post. Dooooh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
