Hi

Does anyone know why my brake lever is suddenly very squeaky?

It has been fine, until this weekend when I gave it a full wash. Now my front brake lever is very noisy and a bit stiff.

I've isolated the noise to the lever, and only when there is pressure on the lever (i.e. when the cable is attached), the tighter the cable the noisier it gets.

It also doesn't seem to stop as well as it used to. You need to give it a really hard sqeeze to make it stop.

Have I washed the grease out of the cable houseing, making it very stiff? (Althought the cable moves freely when not attached to the lever)

Or is it something wrong with the lever?

Anybody have any suggestions?

Just put some oil on all the bits that move and where the cabel sits. That will stop it

Stopped by Evans on the way home last night, and the cable was getting caught somewhere just inside the lever casing.

But they fixed it for me and lubed it up, and didn't ask for a penny.

(perhaps that's why I left the Evans sticker on the frame  )
