Creating GPS routes in Google Earth

To my mind, this is the ultimate way to create routes as you can see the exact territory you're planning to visit.

I've created a picture tutorial to show how to do this:

You'll need a Garmin GPS, Mapsource and City Navigator mapping on DVD.

Ben, good HowTo.

I've used a Garmin StreetPilot 2610 for several years with the PC software for planning.

A week ago I had the choice of new software or new hardware.

I chose a change and bought a TomTom Go 730. No PC based mapping software available although you can plug the 730 to the PC and use a slightly bigger screen image.

I'm really missing the Garmin software but shall give GE + tyres a try for the TomTom.
