Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
I'm sure we can blame it on Bazball.

Oh, indeed we can! If only to goad those who leap to the defence of Bazball at the slightest provocation.

Now, if only there was someone like that on here ... ;)

On that subject ... what the hell was Archer doing, hitting sixes?!? That's no way to build an innings, it's a TEST match, not flippin T20 😡
If he gets out before Our Joe gets 200 ...

A number 11 isn't expected to "build an innings"

Archer does seem to have an ability to sometimes stick around for ages with a decent batsman at the other end though.

Indeed, what the hell was Archer doing hitting the ball at all. He's meant to be a fast bowling no. 11. Making contact between bat and ball is not in his job spec.

Archer is a very good number 11, in fact he is a decent number 9 with a good eye. One of the strengths of the team they picked is there are no outright tailenders in the Anderson, Bashir, Panear, Leech mode.

It’s great for Root to get his century at last and overall I’d say England are in a good position, but long way to go yet.

It would have been nice to put a few more runs on the board. Better still if our bowlers were looking interested. Long way to go yet, but it's advantage Australia as things stand.

Just seen back Smith's drop of Head earlier - just looked like someone short on cricket to me.

Christ, Hatch as bad at cricket commentary as cycling. At least he hasn't got foreign language to ridiculously over pronounce.
He's clearly floundering on the technical side as well.

Green seems to have decided to channel his inner Brook by pointlessly giving away his wicket when going well. Duckett gets unlucky with a tricky catch but almost immediately Jacks takes an absolute cracker.
