A certain commentator has just described England as "putting the Indian bowlers to the pump recently". I do like a good mis-used metaphor!

A dreadful waft of a shot from Brook and first ball up too.
England trying hard to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, once again.
Up to the old guard now.

expecting more batting dominated snooze fests in the county championship with the kookaburra ball again. I read the phrase somewhere, "playing 4 day cricket with a 5 day ball....."

Did you see the Surrey score!

Most notable point in that inning was Alex Lees (an opening batsman no less) won the toss and opted to bowl first!!!

His bowlers must not be very happy with him...

Scenario: an umpire gives "not out" for an lbw because he thinks the ball was going to hit the stumps but that it pitched just outside leg. If it is reviewed by the fielding team and ball tracking shows it actually pitched inline but "umpire's call" on hitting the stumps, can the umpire give it out?
