Root getting away with dragging on was pivotal. And some of Pakistan's fielding has been shocking at times.

Shame that there wasn't more of a target to defend, but at least there was one.

Good series win against a poor Pakistan team in conditions favouring English seamers. They almost blew it with some poor bowling/captaincy/coaching yesterday as they did against NZ at the oval. Positives were Cox who looks solid, almost Collingwood-esque and Brook who looked more in the moment. Robinson did well of course but not sure about him under pressure or on flat strips.

It's because of how the bails were broken.

He was out all day and it was a great throw from Joffra.

You expect the officials to know the rules -the TV review giving him not out, then a minute later changing their mind was farcical.
i can understand the match official getting it wrong in real time, but you expect the video referee to know the rules and get it right

It's been a weird summer for England, and I don't think anyone knows where we're really at.

I did enjoy seeing KP on the sleeve now that he's part of the coaching/mentor team.

I do: we're bang average (& probably a bit lower). We've dispatched probably the world's worst touring side and lost at home to one of the better ones.

We've replaced a controversial captain with a failed captain mostly because the vice captain was too close to the outgoing discredited administration.

We don't really need a captain, we just need to have someone with an earpiece listening to Michael Vaughan because somehow, he knows everything.
