I dunno about that. Our bowling was abysmal, Curran in particular. Not really sure why we didn't play Archer or Rashid, but then our selection policy is weird at the best of times.

Yep. I like him, but he was chucking pies.

Curran is normally a good ODI bowler to have in the team, though I wonder if it was because he wasnt opening the attack, where he gets most of his wickets, they pushed him to he middle/end overs which he isnt that good at.

still could be worse, could be NZ who just threw away their odi game against India with plenty of dumb bowling

He went for 100 off 9 overs. That's terrible.

not denying that, worst bowling figures for an England bowler in an ODI, but his average is normally 6 an over, even 8s would have been on par with the rest of the bowlers, so why the difference ? did he have just a very bad game? couldnt cope with the conditions ? or was he being bowled in the wrong bits of the game, his best performances are normally opening the bowling, but Atkinson/Tongue did that, yet neither Akinson/Tongue then bowled out their overs.

its almost like they went well weve got enough runs it doesnt matter if we are getting hit for lots of runs just bowl the overs and we win regardless. which then of course they didnt.

but then why is Tongue who almost kept a lid on it sitting on the sidelines today ?

Like I said, our selection policy is weird.
