Croatia is lovely, actually, amazing! Afraid I didn't cycle there so I can't help lol. The drivers and the roads were not fab though, even if a lot of the roads are paid by EU money. Went to Dubrovnik, Mljet and Korcula

lol, but the coasts are the best bit! I can't find any dangerous photo's on my FB album i'm afraid. I have about 8videos on youtube though it you want, lots of driving in those

One top tip, along the old wall in Dubrovnik there is a cafe where you have to cut through the wall and down some steps. If you go further down then you can jump off the cliffs with the locals. Totally amazing, warm sea with ships sailing past. Then, when you look up, you have the most amazing view of the walled city. Found Croatia expensive though, especially when eating out.

I'll be cycling there this summer. All the advice I've heard is to avoid the coast roads - so that's Dubrovnik, Mlijet and Korcula out then ;-)
We went to Croatia in September. Korcula was great, we didn't cycle but one day we did hire a scooter and wander around, and the roads there were not busy at all. Is a bit hilly though
I wouldn't want to cycle on the coast road to/from Dubrovnik as that IS the main road and it is a bit narrow and twisty for the traffic it carries.
Try to see Plitvice, it is amazing. Try get there before the main hordes descend though!
