Hey y'all.

I'm just doing some pre-lim research into nice rides for next term. I'll be in Bristol, and I have a friend who lives in Cardiff.

The bridges which cross the Severn are both motorways, and to go around the Severn more than doubles the length of the trip.

Is it possible to cross either of those bridges on a bicycle/ pushing it if necessary?

Failing that, there's a ferry is there? I'd rather not have to get a bleeding ferry!

You can cycle accross the 'old' bridge - it hac cycle lanes.Linky

Relevant bit is halfway down the page

Please be advised there are foot/cycle paths on the "old" Severn Bridge (M48) in both directions that are well signposted and accessible from both sides. However there is No foot/cycle path on the new Second Severn Crossing.

Curses - Mr Paul got in ahead of me!!!!
