please all send your well dones etc etc to me , as i have just sat down and completed yesterdays Daily Mail ' quick crossword ' without any help etc etc , i feel quite chuffed as normally i have to ask for help from other half to complete it .

I heard a story years ago of a chap on the train going into London who sat and filled in the Times Crossword every morning. Then one morning he was interrupted mid way through and someone noticed it was filled in in pencil and he just went over it in pen. His wife used to do it for him while he had his breakfast then he would try to impress his fellow passengers.

I used to do the quick crossword in my head and then write all the answers in one go, before I became ill.

Now I try to do it left handed (I write right handed normally).
