Cheers Clarion, I think the curly slip-road that brings you back up onto Gt Vic St is White Lion Hill or something like that. Spotted it Yesterday, going Eastbound. These double-backs are annoying, I have to say. Could do similar prior to Temple and make for Waterloo Bridge... I'll try both out sometime next week!

It's Puddle Dock.

If it was me, I'd leave the Embankment left on the slip road before Blackfriars Bridge, cross to Queen Victoria Street and then do a u-turn opposite where Blackfriars Lane emerges (as there is hatching (sp?) in the middle of the road to allow traffic emerging from Blackfriars Lane to turn right). It's probably a bit quicker and avoids the underpass. Traffic is usually backed up, so shouldn't be a problem. If you were green coming off Victoria Embankment and onto Queen Victoria Street, you'll then get a green coming off Queen Victoria Street and onto Blackfriars bridge southbound.

... which makes me wonder: as above, IIRC the traffic light sequence for the westbound traffic coming off Queen Victoria Street is on a red light as the traffic comes across from Victoria Embankment going straight onto Queen Victoria Street. So you may just be able to turn right (prob illegally, per your original comment) from the Victoria Embankment set of lights. Or get off at that junction and walk across.

There is actually a cyclists' right turn "facility" off the eastbound ramp. Not used it myself but it does look slow and cumbersome. You stick to the left coming up the ramp, after the traffic lights there is a dropped kerb leading to a cycle crossing just to the south of the pedestrian crossing in front of Lever House, which probably takes two light cycles to get you onto the bridge southbound. So in total 3 sets of traffic lights just to get from the Embankment ramp onto the bridge. Not that tempting!
I have seen people skip the first bit by following the road towards Queen Victoria St and then take a very sharp right onto the bike lane, a bit dodgy in heavy traffic though.

I was planning on the Blackfriars shuffle, as described by Budd but there was a lorry up my 'arris who was getting beeped by a queue of cars because he was not on the ball when the lights changed. With this in mind I thought it would just be safer to keep going east, along QVS. Anyway cheers for the input, all. I suppose it's the price you pay for enjoying CS8

I think clarion's route is about the quickest way to Victoria. At Chelsea Bridge cross straight over the Embankment and take the first right at the lights just before the old Chelsea Barracks site. Then, it's pretty much straight all the way to Victoria Station down the bus lanes.
