CTC Internal Server Error

Bit of an odd thread but I was going to look at CTC membership.... But I'm getting a '500 Internal Server Error' on this page: http://beta.ctc.org.uk/joinmembership, the link is on this page (which works) http://beta.ctc.org.uk/ .

In other news, which would you recommend - British Cycling or CTC? I've just finished a 12 month 'Ride' membership with BC and thought I would compare the two.

The CTC was established in 1878 and is the oldest national tourism organisation of any description in the world and is the UK's largest cycling organization. I tried to join myself at one point, but the CTC wouldn't take Paypal so I gave up.

I like having the 3rd party insurance but seeing as they both offer £10million I wondered if one was preferred over the other as its £39/CTC and £22/BC.

If you're a member of an affiliated cycling club you can get CTC for £15 a year but you won't get the magazine.

Yep my membership is up in July too. Got a letter offering me a repeat 5 years for £140 but I think I'm going down the affiliate route through the Fridays.

BC or LCC are good. I wouldn't bother with the CTC, they are hopeless, apart from Chris Juden.

I'm in the CTC. For straight commuting I think I would promote the BC commuting options more though. Racing would be BC too, but somewhere between the two I would say CTC (as they traditionally promote leisure and fitness cycling rather than racing)

Roger Geffen and Chris Juden are good campaigners... some times held a little back by their management I wonder..?

Chris Juden is good. I don't rate Roger Geffen. He's a lobbyist rather than a campaigner, who doesn't understand the wider picture.

CTCs response to the Government consultation on careless driving is a classic example of getting the wrong end of the stick and not thinking through the effects of what you are promoting.

I have to point out I've met neither, but have had a couple of short email conversations at some point with both. I didn't get the feeling Roger was too different to Chris, just different mannerism, more gentle approach. He seemed a little older fashioned too, in his TV inteviews.
