I was going to say join ctc for their 5 year deal but that isn't cheaper.

I go out with CTC so that's why I'm with them. Never looked at any other cover. I get student rates anyway (for another few months anyway).

Reasons why I went with the CTC: insurance and legal, they train people up, and they actively campaign and commission research.

BC do all that but never seem as vocal on cyclists rights to the road and safety issues. Both are worth supporting imo, its down to personal preferance and costs that the individual can afford.

I see from their website membership page , BC claim to be "investing millions on cycle facilities across the country every year". I wasn't aware of this, does anyone know what they have provided?

Didnt they invest a lot of money into the Aberdeen and Calshot velodromes recently?

Thanks to Mark for the info and the discount code, and I too am now £12 poorer.

I just hope I never have to use their legal services.

Yes, I have also just spent £12 that I didn't intend to spend today - good discount though and you never know when the insurance/legal stuff might be useful. I assume the cover runs for 365 days from the date of signing up? Couldn't find that info on the site.

I used to be a member of CTC for several years but the fee seems to increase every year beyonf the rate of inflation. I also got fed-up with the CTC rides - way too slow for me!

Its only gone up a quid this year, for the first time in about 4-5 years. I dont think a quid is too much, given what they do with campaigns.
