CTC Rally @ York.

Anyone heading for the Rally this weekend? My wife and I will be there on our Raleigh's on Saturday. Camping at Stillington.

Arriving Friday night, driving up. Its on the way home. Been a few years since last visit, used to cycle down from Glasgow then over to the west coast railway for last train to Glasgow Sunday night.

I went a few times many years ago (mumble) when the Barnsley(?) discount cycle gear stand anchored it, the bike jumble amazing too.
Also Wobbly John? with his bike with reverse steering was real bellyache laughter, and trying all those recumbents equally funny though occasionally painful
But I was rather intimidated by the yacf crew

We didn't attend (or even do any cycling this weeknd) but we did spot a lot of cyclists out and about around the city.

Well, we went on the Saturday; cycled from our campsite at Stillingfleet (Not Stillington!!). Greenway Path was open. Had a nice, longer ride back to site. Lots to se as usual but it felt different somehow. Highlight of the day:- Saw a Red Kite on way back to site. Rubbish Photo.

York rally has changed, the firms that used to attend tried to sell off last year's stock or hard to sell gear. Its all done on the Internet now. The Birthday rides are no more now, the rally is a place to meet up now.
