Cube Bikes - help wanted!!

I'm keen to purchase a Cube Attain C:62 SLX but have left it late in the year to do so. Unfortunately, I didn't have the funds earlier in the year but have them now. If anyone knows of a local bike shop or dealer that stocks Cube Bikes, I'd be very pleased hear from you. Thanks 👍

Just did a web search and there seem to be a few around, just search your size and the model and see what's around.

Hi VinSumRox - thanks for the message. I'm looking for a size 53cm with the lilac-black colour scheme - which is scarce unfortunately. Which is why my best chance may be to contact a smaller bike shop that doesn't necessarily have an online presence. Frustrating.

They are really attractive bikes - so was keen to get one before they start messing with the 'look' as they have done with the Boardman bikes, i.e. had been looking at their bikes at the beginning of last year - then they released their new bikes for the season, and I thought they were ugly and the paint job just as bad!!

Nice - really attractive looking bikes - and why I was so keen to get one. Had been looking at them since the beginning of the year but couldn't commit until I knew that my work contract was going to be extended etc.

Have paid for the bike - just waiting for delivery details once bike has been made up etc. Is going to be weird since current bike is alloy, campag with rim brakes and gearing is manual - whereas with the Cube bike, frame is carbon, shimano with disc brakes and DTi - hhmmnn 🤔

Re new bike update - it's been delivered and been unpacked (see pics) but stem is likely to need changing as it's 90mm (with a 53cm sized frame) - which is a pain. Fortunately, the bars / stem combo is not one piece (phew) but a £50 pain nonetheless. Will try to sell the 90mm stem to offset cost of getting a larger one (100mm)

Unlike my 2016 Cube Attain GTC Disc, your steerer might be carbon, my one is alloy... Which allows me full ability to play with the stem position and spacers, accepting it might look bad. On a carbon steerer, you really need the "bung" supporting the stem clamp on the inside of the steerer.

On my Cube, moving the 30mm of spacers above the stem, effectively increases the reach to the bars by ~10mm.

Is the stem currently in the "+" orientation, pointing more to the sky? Flipping it will increase the reach by ~6mm, as well as lower the bars by ~18mm.

How does a stem cost £50? Should be able to get a Deda for around £20... +P&P and the simplest of jobs to do yourself.
