Hi guys/gals.

Tonight I'm making the decision about my new bike but wondering if any of you have either of the 2 bikes above. I've tried them both and couldn't split them so after a helping hand.

I can get the cube for £495 or the cannondale for £569. If the latter, would you choose the synapse over the caad8? All are fitted with sora.

The synapse or caad8 could be a good choice due to the 6months 0% finance option but that isn't the final selling factor

Dammit I'm stuck

I have a Synapse and it is a great allround bike. The CAAD has a lighter frame but is a bit more racey.

For a comfy all year round best of all worlds, go for the synapse.

Edited to add, FWIW the stock saddle is pretty good although i know its subject to user etc, but i know 3 synapse owners and all agree that it is a good saddle.
Stock wheels are ok as well, a bit weighty but roll well.

What colour are they and which has the longer warranty? Which lbs do you prefer? Will come down to the softer stuff if the bikes are equivalent

I prefer the Cube just because I find they have better kit for the £££ & I also prefer the colour schemes & styling over the 'Dales.

They 'seem' to me more modern looking whereas the Emmerdales seem to have quite old fashioned (very straight) lines about them, especially the top tubes.

However, I have read that the CAAD has one of the lightest alu frames available & the Carbon Synapse won last years BOTY Award in Cycling Plus magazine.

Having never ridden a Dale I can't give 1st hand account of them but they are well loved by many on this forum & no doubt have excellent build quality.

Equally, or maybe more so, there are a great many very happy Cube owners on CC too, many having recently bought a Cube & some having owned them a while.

In the end it will all come down to which one you would enjoy taking out of the garage/shed the most.

Either way you will end up with an excellent bike.

Best of British.

As you have tried them both, which makes you smile most? Buy that one. For me, I prefer the cube, but that is just me.

Sounds like the choice then, but remember that on a short test ride you get a skewed vision of the bike's feel. Anyone can give a race-oriented bike a bit of oomph on a quick mile long test, but how will it measure up against the Synapse for comfort after 50 miles?

Just something to consider...
