True. Straights only of course.
Although I like jugs too:whistle:

I must confess to be a regular tea drinker on early-morning drives. My wife bought me an insulated mug that fits in a cup-holder, but tea only tastes good from a chine mug or cup.

But what about advantages that are more legal?

1. They are somewhere to stash bottles on the way to a club run, turbo session in a village hall, TT or similar.
2. Travelling with young children (which we no longer do) is significantly easier.
3. the bigger ones hold flowers or a bottle being taken to a dinner engagement.

But really... I don't see the point of them. They somehow pander to our adoption of all things American. I came across them in US cars before I saw them here. They are cheap (often just a differently-shaped moulding) and sometimes appeal to the masturbatory geek techno-admirer (Saab, Audi and others) for their faux-aircraft-technology softly sprung fold-outiness.

But what is worse is the need that motor manufacturers feel to pt a centre console in cars. It used to cover the gearbox, but with the advent (some decades ago) of FWD in most mass-market cars, there is no longer any need for the gear lever to live in a hump on the floor. The linkages taking commands to the gearbox (now usually alongside the motor) are odd and unnecessary.

For me, true luxury in a car is an uncluttered dash and nothing but space twixt driver and front passenger. It feels roomier but more intimate. Gear levers can go on the column (as Peugeot, Panhard and many others knew but then forgot) and handbrakes can come out of the dash (step forward 2CV).

And cup holders? Schmupp holders!

I thought this thread was going to be about 'cuckolders'.
When I realised what it was REALLY about, I spilled my tea in my lap. If only I'd had something to hold the cup properly.

On another note I WANT TAPATALK BACK!! I ONLY BOUGHT IT FOR ACCESS TO CC

Talking of Picnics, i once saw a family having a Picnic in the middle of a roundabout !

A guy I worked with once saw a family having a picnic on one of the raised vantage points the police have at the side of motorways.
