On holiday this year i found a 2 year out of date chocolate spread in my mums cupboard and she said that will be fine as it hasn't been open yet, but i through it away when she wasn't looking.

Remember one Xmas as a kid my mum pulled some salmon out of the freezer for the scrambled eggs and salmon on toast, only to discover it was 10 years out of date...

Great idea MDB... we could just open her house up as the Northern Branch.

We have a large tin of Ham in our larder, it was a moving in present from my mother when I left home aged 18.
In 1978.

We also have several tins of Army Rations pate. Most of the rest of the Army rations stuff was eaten about 5 years ago, but the pate remains as it's an acquired taste. We belive the date represents '1973', and it's still eatable (just).

I was having a furtle in my departed Grandfathers garage and a big metal powdered egg tin that now has nuts and bolts in it has "Property Of The Ministry Of Food" written on it.
