Current or new Giant TCR?

I'm hopefully test riding a current 2015 GIANT TCR this weekend but am aware of the upcoming release of the redesigned 2016 model which should be out around September looking online.

Without being able to test ride them both I'm unsure if I should wait for the redesigned model to become available as there are quite a few changes versus the current model; plus the current TCR frame I understand is around 3 years old (in style/design terms). I'm somewhat ignoring the fact the current model would be slightly reduced in price if bought more so as the new UK TCRs pricing I don't believe to have been confirmed.

So should I wait or should I plunge for the current model!?

I'd wait if the money isn't an issue, try out both, the current now and the new when it's available. Or if you ride the current model now and it blows you away, go for it, so you have the bike for the rest of the summer

if it was me personally i'd wait.
if you know that the current frame is 3 years olf in terms of design etc and you know the new one is going to be updated/improved i'd hold out to try the new version.

worst case scenario you wait for the new one, try it, don't like it and can buy the 2015 model a at a reduced rate.

of course, tis up to you!

Part of me does say just get the current one if the test ride goes well but my head says wait...!

Difficult when the reviews online are for the top spec model as you'd expect!

Which model are you getting? You might find you can get a better spec model if you go for the 2015. That said, if the frame is better (for you) on the 2016 model, then that would be a wise choice as components can be changes, the frame less so

Where in the UK are you? Go see if the staff in one of the Giant Stores has any insight if you have one close

The test ride is via a GIANT store and we did briefly discuss the new TCR but I hadn't really considered it at the time and have since done some research online.

Just looking at any of the standard advanced models really as can always upgrade components etc

The only difference likley being the 2017 model would be built upon the same frame with a different paint job thus different to this years conundrum

I have it on good authority that they will be using a slippier paint in 2017, to make it more aero.

Iv just pulled the trigger on the current TCR advanced. Got a great deal from 'pedal on cycles'.
I'm not too fussed about the new model coming out coz I know the current one is a cracking bit of kit.
Being delivered Monday
