It's been a most informative thread. Apart from exploring the many and various ways of cutting mudguard stays, we've learned a lot (probably more than we wanted to know) about Plax's and TheDoctor's relative hill-climbing speeds, their propensities and preferences for cake-eating, and picked up some hints about the nature of their relationship...

The Doc seems particularly keen for us to know that he's climbed Llanberis Pass, so I'll mention that again.

It's a relationship based on cake. And envy.

Yes, it has been informative - and in addition I have learned how to vary the number of posts displayed per page!

Well next time I'll cycle up the pass waving a big piece of carrot cake and see if that increases your speed at all. If not I'll just eat it on the way up, which will probably cause me indigestion and allow you the opportunity to overtake, or in the very least nearly catch up with me.

I intend to take a tow-rope. If Plax can pedal her Galaxy up at warp facter 3, she'll hardly notice dragging 100 kilos of fat-bastard-on-a-Ribble.

It was most
The important point Plax never makes about the whole Carrot Cake Imbalance scenario is that she didn't finish her piece anyway!! Had she had a larger peice, it would have been wasted.
