Not really. Sticking 105 on would presumably lighten it?! CX bikes are heavier if alu
12kg is quite heavy for a cx bike though. I've had a lift of one of those it is quite weighty to be fair. 105 wouldn't make any appreciable difference in that respect.

The vapour is over 10. Might Boardman is close to 11 but feels perfectly light. Recently carried down the steps into Greenwich foot tunnel and I have a v weak right shoulder still

Thanks guys, I'm now thinking I might be better to get an ALU road bike which can take guards and a rack, and disc breaks (for a bit more clearance as well as winter)

Unfortunately this has not helped me make a final decision!
