I recently spent a couple of days their with my teenage children. Although we didn't cycle it clearly would be a great way to see the area. There are a good range of specific battle field route maps available here;

The cycle path system is extensive and well signposted and cyclists are well respected, there were however a few roads that were prohibited to cycle on, so care should be taken. I often find that in countries with great cycling infrastructure, accidentally deviating off the prescribed route can result in aggression from drivers and some very close passes.
