Thanks to everyone's advice. A combination of all of them have minimised it, but not eradicated entirely. Guess I must be a bit of a chicken!

In case people were wondering I moved the position on the helmet so I could tilt it all the way down, and then further tried to tighten the mount in place with a cable tie as well.

One last thing. Make sure the helmet is tight on your head. I usually find I get the best fit when I wear a cap under my helmet.

I have a Contour HD and do this:

1. Tighten it on mount with straps as much as possible. Use a small thin bag tie to loop through the hole on mount and secure to helmet (reduces chance of it coming off if straps become loose)
2. Wedge a slice of that felt padding for table & chair legs under the mount as it absorbs vibration.
3. Wedge a little bit of folded stiff cardboard between camera body and mount. It stops it rattling on the mount body.
4. An obvious one, tighten your helmet!.
