Hi all

I rarely venture up to the big city - although I had to yesterday (Friday 26th) for work.

My train arrived at London Bridge about 08.45 and I was walking, entering Borough High St - I guess about 08.51 (roughly) when someone swooshed past with a cyclechat top on. I think you turned right into Southwark St.

Were you that man? (going too fast to describe, except it was a bloke)

edit - not going inappropraitely fast, just too quick for me to do anything but look up and clock the old CC logo

I'm always amazed during my (roughly biannual) trips to London, how many cyclists there are compared to 10-15 years ago when I lived there

me me me!

red fratello, white hat, ss cc top and assos shorts? red ortleib?

although no-one can go fast there because of the road works and lights

I'd have been a blur of speed over London Bridge for my daily sprint finish

Sounds right. You weren't going super-fast, but did a wicked right turn going South from Borough High Street?

I didn't really take anything else in other than the CC shirt (and,of course, the great bike handling)

London Bridge seems like a perfectly designed sprint finish point!

(My main wory on that bridge would be dozy peds stepping out to take photos of Tower Bridge)

I take the centre lane to avoid all the traffic bailing left at the lights, it's only a sprint up to the crest of the bridge, it tends to be time to slow down and filter before the lights at the far end, fair stretch of up hill though

The rider I saw was coming off the bridge onto Borough High St, so it sounds like you're going the other way? (the guy I saw was going south)

yes south, my office is just past the war memorial on Borough High Street so I cross London Bridge and turn onto Southwark Bridge Road because of the road works (and then the wrong way up the one way at first left but that's another matter)

there's not that many CC tops around, I've never seen one on my commute although I've been spotted by twoor three other forum members

Defo you then Tynan - excellant. Well impressed by you're manouvering - looked like a nightmare if you're not quite sure what's going on (especially with all the road works - that whole area is changing every time I go there)

(And it's my 1000th post btw)

and thank-you, the one good thing about riding the exact same route every single day is you get lots of practice

Yeah it's a mess there and it has been for months...I don't always use the bridge....Now im back to using Blackfriars as Waterloo is a mess as well.

I have no idea what the percieved problem is with London Bridge, I know this topic has caused 'discussion' before but it's only a matter of moving over one lane with plenty of time to do it, those road works only narrow the three lanes to one and it's well after the bridge

I like London Bridge, it's wide, open and straight, I did Waterloo and Southwark Bridge a few times and didn't like them so much
