What are the Pros and Cons of wearing a helmet when cycling

I never wear one but i would like to hear your thoughts on the subject

Sorry i did not see this Helmet and Headphones debate until now

And on another note i have heard a couple of times that drivers give more space to cyclists who are not wearing helmets than they do to those who are wearing helmets

I don't always agree with numbnuts.
In fact there are subjects where we disagree to the extent of being on opposite sides.
Sometimes I think he's silly
