Had my own 'Muppet in a TT' moment last night... Which I'm ashamed to say induced a little cycle rage in me...

Was riding from Birmingham and had just passed through Bromsgrove, I was riding about 20mph, in primary, keeping up with traffic, TT decide to try and overtake when there was nowhere for him to go.

I held my position and he had to brake and pull in behind me.

As the cars slowed to a stop for some lights (with the TT about 6 inches from my wheel) I filtered about 5 or 6 cars and pulled in about 3 cars back from the lights. waited about a couple of minutes for lights to change and then rode secondary as cars passed.

Was calm at this point, I did actually say in my head 'muppet in a TT' but brushed it off as just a bad bit of driving.

Although, as the TT passed he matched his speed to mine to cut me up and purposely 'pushed' me into a parked car, (he almost clipped his wing mirror on the parked car) I had to almost stop and wait for him to pass.

Well..

I lost it... I chased him and ended up cycling next to his drivers window on the other side of the road shouting abuse at at him for about 5 seconds telling him to pull over. He kept both hands on the wheel and kept looking straight ahead.

As the traffic cleared he pulled away and I pulled in (the car behind then gave me a smile and a thumbs up)

Not proud and find cycling relaxing, even brush off most things like this but when it's intentional and think that someone is trying to knock me off it makes me so angry!!!

'Muppet on a bike', Wychbold.

I was trying to work this out whilst reading...what does 'TT' stand for?

Keep calm and arrive in one piece, anyway.

Although you were fully in your rights to get cross, the reality is that in an altercation between your bike and a TT, you and your bike are going to lose.

Think of it this way. You have to put up with this cock for ten minutes.

He has to live his whole life without a penis.

Lost it, got it again.
I guess it depends on what type of day you are having. Today I would have brushed that off and sighed "idiot" under by breath; yesterday I would have put my pump through his side window and then some...

I'm not sure how I'd react if someone did that to me. I'm calm when people make mistakes, but I imagine I'd feel differently if it was malicious.

Just put it down to experience. No harm done and car drivers do that kind of thing all the time.

I'm gradually learning to calm down.

Had some tit beep at me this morn because i took the road on a blind where there afe often parked cars around the corner, which there were. I just pointed at the car and made a gesture widening both arms, to indicate i needed space.

In the past I would have reacted like you.

In the future who knows.

Yep, TT as in Audi TT, the Muppet in a TT is reference to this post

I'd have totally lost it if that had happened to me I'm sure. Luckily, being a big hulking glarey sort of fellow means that few drivers do piss about with me that badly.

I think you have every right to get upset with a muppet in a metal box deliberately trying to cause you injury, hopefully the driver will think twice about doing that again.

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
I had my own muppet in an Audi yesterday when a lady drove down the bus lane (seperate road entirely) to avoid traffic. The only thing in her way was me - she pushed past and pulled across sharply. There wes a ... discussion. Which was polite, but I'm not sure it did her any good!
